A new tool has been developed to diagnose premature ejaculation

Updated Nov 15, 2007 at 5:45 EST.

A new diagnostic tool ( AIPE ) has emerged to evaluate premature ejaculation.   Arafa M wrote an interesting article in the Nov 2007 publication of The Journal of sexual medicine , which explores the Arabic Index of Premature Ejaculation ( AIPE ). What is it?   It is a questionnaire which is a new measuring device for ( PE ).   A study was conducted to test it including 71 men complaining of ( PE ) with 73 healthy subjects.   They were asked to complete the seven questions in the AIPE.   These questions explored the patients, erectile function, their sexual desire, their ejaculation latency times, their control or lack of over their ejaculation, their sexual satisfaction, their partner’s satisfaction and their psychological state.

The AIPE questionnaire was tested for its validity and the results proved it is an excellent diagnostic tool to identify different types of  ( PE ).   In conclusion this tool could be used in the future to reduce the number of misdiagnosed cases of premature ejaculation.
