Brazilian Study Indicates High Precedence of Premature Ejaculation ( PE )

Updated Mar 22, 2007 at 4:27 EST.

In the March 2007 epublication (prior to print publication) in the Journal of Sexual Medicine, CH Abdo reported that a new survey for male sexual dysfunction could indicate a high incidence of premature ejaculation ( PE ). The Male Sexual Quotient (MSQ) was developed to provide clinicians with an easy-to-administer and interpret tool to help diagnose several types of sexual dysfunction. Premature ejaculation ( PE ) is one area on the MSQ.

Of the men who responded to the item relating to ejaculatory control, responses from 46% of them indicate possible issues with premature ejaculation. Abdo indicates that a double-blind study needs to be performed to validate these results and the use of the MSQ. Since almost half of the 612 men responding to the survey indicated concerns with premature ejaculation ( PE ), there could be a strong correlation with overall male sexual dysfunctions.
