In volume 13 of the
Canadian Journal of Urology published in February 2006, G Brock, etc. al. discussed findings from a random telephone study of Canadian men and women. The study was designed to learn about sexual dysfunctions in men and woman and how often these individuals had sought help for their condition.
Men in the study reported that early or premature ejaculation ( PE ) was an issue 23% of the time. The next most common male sexual complaint was erectile dysfunction. Among men age 60 – 80 years, medical complaints such as diabetes and depression were also noted. More than 75% of men and women had never sought treatment for their sexual concerns. Researchers concluded that individuals may not be concerned about their sexual issues or may feel that it is not a serious concern and therefore, not worth seeking the advice of a health professional.
