Men who have chronic prostatitis may find relief through aerobic exercise, report Italian researchers. Chronic prostatitis or pelvic pain syndrome has been pinpointed as one possible cause of premature ejaculation ( PE ). Dr. Gianluca Giubilei is the lead researcher on the study from
Careggi
Hospital in
Florence,
Italy and published the results in the January issue of the Journal of Urology.
Chronic prostatitis, according to researchers, is notoriously difficult to care for and many men do not find lasting relief from treatments. The study examined the effects of either stretching exercises or aerobic exercise in 231 men with chronic prostatitis whose disease had been previously unresponsive to treatment. Men who participated in aerobic exercise demonstrated marked improvement on quality of life measures, visual pain analogue scores, and chronic prostatitis symptom scores.
