Researchers reported in the British Journal of Urology that circumcision does indeed remove the most sensitive areas of the penis. Previous research has indicated that men with premature ejaculation ( PE ) could find some relief from the condition through circumcision. By studying pressure points, researchers were able to determine the most sensitive portions of the penis, giving light to one reason why men who are circumcised are less likely to experience premature ejaculation ( PE ).
According to the study, the underside of the penis where the circumcision scar is located has the most sensitive tissue. For men who have not yet been circumcised, the most sensitive areas of the penis are those still covered by tissue that is usually removed during the procedure. Even though the circumcision rate is dropping, some physicians still routinely suggest the procedure as a way to prevent conditions such as urinary tract infection and penile cancer. In extreme cases of premature ejaculation ( PE ), the procedure can be suggested to provide relief when no other intervention is successful.
