In Stockholm, Sweden on December 7, the company of Jannsen-Cilag has submitted an MAA ( Marketing Authorization Application ) for Dapoxetine.
This is an effective treatment for premature ejaculation. This SSRI medication has undergone
five, double-blind, placebo, phase III clinical trials. The testing for the new drug involved over 6,000 patients from over 30
countries around the world.
In the application, Sweden submitted the MAA under the decentralized procedure.
This means that Sweden will be the “Reference Member State” and Austria, Germany, Finland, Italy, Portugal and Spain will serve as the “Concerned Member States”.
The developers of Dapoxetine ( Prilogy ™ ) are also planning to re-submit it in the United States in the next couple of months.
This medicine is foreseen by many in the field of Urology, as one of the most reliable and effective, daily dosage treatments for PE being tested today.
