Definitions of acquired premature ejaculation

Updated Dec 22, 2007 at 2:24 EST.

Marcel D. Waldinger defines “acquired premature ejaculation” in his recent article in the November 2007 edition of the Urologic Clinics of North America.   One significant aspect in the definition of “acquired premature ejaculation”, is that the man has experienced normal ejaculation at some point in his life before he started suffering from premature ejaculatory functions.   Often times the premature ejaculation appears as a sudden or gradual onset.     The dysfunction in the case of acquired PE could be caused by, urologic dysfunctions such as erectile dysfunction or prostatis.   It also could be caused by thyroid dysfunction or often times by psychological or relationship problems.

This definition of acquired premature ejaculation is compared with lifelong premature ejaculation.   This sexual dysfunction defines men who have endured premature ejaculation since their first sexual encounter.
