The International Urology and Nephrology journal published an article recently by Athanasios Z, reviewing a study on the effectiveness of Duloxetine. Duloxetine is a type of ( SSRI ).
This is a selective, serotonin, reuptake, inhibitor, a type ofanti depressant. Many SSRI`s on the market today are being tested to treat premature ejaculation. The specific drug was tested on 20 maried patients suffering from premature ejaculation ( PE ). The patients were split up into two equal groups, 10 taking Duloxetine and another 10 which were the placebo group. The patients results were evaluated by calculating their ( IELTD ) intravaginal ejaculation latency times. The results of the study showed significant increases for the Duloxetine group. In this group 40% were rated as "very much improved" while another 40% were rated as "much improved". Of the placebo group only one patient showed a rating of "much improved". In conclusion, Duloxetine proved to be more effective in the treatment of ( PE ) when given continually to patients.
