Dave E. Bresler, co-founded of Academy for Guided Imagery in
Malibu, Ca, is bringing the concept back into the public eye. He points to research published in the January 2006 Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine that demonstrates how guided imagery can work for many people to help them reduce pain.
For many years before pharmacological treatments were available, therapists used guided imagery as one method to treat premature ejaculation ( PE ) Existing research does not focus on guided imagery as the only method of treatment, but it suggests that when used with medication, it can be a viable way to help the mind cope with a condition. Some of the methods used in guided imagery include relaxation exercises, audio tapes, meditation, and guided relaxation.
