Defining premature ejaculation is tricky.
Even though this condition effects anywhere from 20%-40% of the male population across the globe, the exact definition of it is debatable by many in the medical world.
Marcel D Waldinger, MD, PhD has been reviewing and conducting studies on premature ejaculation for years and is considered one of the leading experts on the subject.
He recently wrote a very interesting article in the November issue of the Urologic Clinics of North America on the different types of definitions for premature ejaculation.
Natural variable premature ejaculation was included in the review.
Waldinger defines Natural variable premature ejaculation as a type of PE which should not be considered a symptom or manifestation, just a normal coincidence occurring in sexual life.
This type of PE is characterized by rapid ejaculations occurring inconsistently and irregularly.
The patient in this case can control ejaculation most of the time.
