A study published in the May 2005 edition of The Journal of Sexual Medicine reported that women whose partners suffer from premature ejaculation are also affected by the disorder. Women participating in the study expressed frustration with the sexual experience and were more likely to be dissatisfied with the relationship.
The study focused on men with an intravaginal ejaculatory latency time of less than two minutes, although the amount of time involved was not its only measurement. This study shifted the focus from the timing of the ejaculatory event exclusively to other factors such as loss of control, frustration, dissatisfaction, and overall interpersonal difficulties of the couple’s relationship.
