Just because a man complains of experiencing some premature ejaculation ( PE ), does not always mean that this person is suffering from a serious sexual disorder.
Diagnosing this problem correctly can be the key to successful treatment.
In the November 2007 publication of The Urologic clinics of
North America, Waldinger MD investigates this phenomenon in his recent article.
Waldinger MD explores the different ways of classifying ( PE ).
Currently there are four classifications that are commonly recognized.
Some of these are neurobiological or medically determined and need pharmaceutical drug treatment while others are mainly determined psychologically.
All these types of premature ejaculation ( PE ) can be effectively treated in different ways.
Some patients have found success in treatment of their premature ejaculation when they take SSRI’s.
These are selective, serotonin, reuptake, inhibitors also used as anti depressants which have proven effective in studies for the treatment of ( PE ).
The ( SSRIs ) such as
Dapoxetine ( Priligy ™ ) have proven to be more effective when taken
daily, rather than on demand.
Other types of ( PE ) can be treated by psychotherapy depending on the cause of the symptoms, while other types of patients find success when treating their ( PE ) with a combination of psychotherapy and drug treatment.
