Marcel D Waldinger, MD, PhD has been reviewing and conducting studies on premature ejaculation for years and is considered one of the leading experts on the subject.
He recently wrote a very interesting article in the November issue of the Urologic Clinics of North America on the different types of definitions for premature ejaculation.
Premature like Ejaculatory Dysfunction is one of his definitions and was included in the review.
Waldinger writes that premature-like ejaculatory dysfunction occurs in men who complain of PE, but actually their IELT times are in the normal range for males which is around 3 to 6 minutes.
This type of PE should not be regarded as a symptom, but psychological problems may be underlying in the patient.
That is because this describes patients who perceive their own sexual performance unrealistically, such as men who are preoccupied with an imaginary idea of early ejaculation or lack of control of it.
