Priligy is the first and only drug to be approved for the treatment of PE. This is a major milestone for PE patients. Priligy cannot be bought yet and is expected to be available later this year.   If you are a patient and would like to buy Priligy you will have to wait until the approval and commercialization process is over. This takes 2-3 months.

PPD, a NC based contract research organization will get $5 million in milestone payments now that a drug it licensed has won regulatory approval in Finland and Sweden.

PPD ( Nasdaq: PPDI ) will receive a $2.5 million payment for each of the approvals, the company says.

“We are pleased that Janssen-Cilag has received regulatory approvals of dapoxetine in Finland and Sweden,” Fred Eshelman, PPD’s chief executive officer, said in a written statement. “As the first approved oral medication for the treatment of premature ejaculation, it represents a significant, innovative advancement in treating this condition. Our partnership with Janssen-Cilag demonstrates our ability to effectively apply our drug development expertise to bring new therapies to market.”
