PE is a very common sexual dysfunction.
Publications are constantly listing a range of different percentages of the male population who suffer from it.
Allen D. Seftel, MD
reviewed a recent survey on premature ejaculation percentages in the
Urologic Clinics of North America, Nov 2007 publication.
He noted the National Health and Social Life Survey which stated that male sexual dysfunction affects 31% of American males.
Hypogonadism affects 5%, while ED affects 5%, and premature ejaculation affects 21%.
These three sexual dysfunctions showed to be the most common of all in the survey.
Doctors and patients alike must face the fact that even though PE effects such a large percentage of the population, there is no medicine approved by the Food and Drug Administration ( FDA ) to treat it.
This is different than Erectile Dysfunction ( ED ) which effects 5% of the population, but does have treatments on the market which are approved by the FDA.
