Sexual dysfunctions are also prevalent in infertile women

Infetilility is a problem that both men and women face. There are many aspects of infertility that are common sexual dysfunctions.
For instance, males often face premature ejaculation problems and erectile dysfunction issues.
Linda Hammer Burns, PhD wrote an interesting article on the subject in the December 2007 issue of Psychiatric Clinics of North America.
She discusses the problems that females face as well when they are infertile….Some women have arousal phase disorders she writes. Common disorders are
vaginismus and dyspareunia.
Unlike common male sexual dysfunctions, PE or ED which are often not as directly related to anatomic and physical factors, women many times have issues such as endometriosis, ovarian cysts, or uterine fibroids.
Female sexual pain disorders can be the cause of infertility because when the pain reaches a point of intensity it can be enough to stop sexual activity.
