Sildenafil Citrate, a new treatment for sexual dysfunction caused by infertility

Updated Nov 13, 2007 at 7:32 EST.

In the September 2007 publication of BJU international,   Boorjian S reviewed a study of sildenafil citrate.   This is a common drug used to treat patients suffering from different sexual dysfunction problems such as premature ejaculation ( PE ) and erectile dysfunction ( ED ).   All 30 patients included in the study were infertile; their psychological state directly related to their ejaculatory problems.   This study focused on these specific types of patients and how this drug affected their sex lives.

The patients were evaluated three months after the commencement of the study.   In patients who suffered from types of sexual dysfunction such as premature ejaculation, they reported a 64% improvement in function after sildenafil therapy.   In conclusion, a link was identified between men with infertility issues and sexual dysfunction.   Specific cases presenting this link showed significant improvement in ejaculatory function when treated with sildenafil citrate.
