In volume 33 of the
Journal of Sex & Marital Therapy, published in March 2007, Tricia Barnes and Ian Eardley commented about the scope of premature ejaculation ( PE ). The authors noted that premature ejaculation ( PE ) is the most common male sexual dysfunction, yet treatment has not been successfully designed due to limitations in defining the condition.
Barnes & Eardley urged patients to seek treatment for premature ejaculation ( PE ) and use a combination of both sexual based behavior therapy plus pharmacological treatments. The pharmacological treatment needs to have an “easy to follow dosing regimen,” while the therapy needs to have a cognitive component to it to help with feelings of control over ejaculation.
